The Fragrance Group: Luxury print design, from Yorkshire to New York

‘Mind Games’ is the new suite of fragrances from New York-based perfume behemoth, The Fragrance Group. They wanted a flagship book to amplify their brand, create a physical touchpoint and raise product awareness with customers and partners throughout the distribution channel.

Inspired by the collection’s association with chess, we designed the book to communicate the range’s luxury position through a combination of photography, typography, graphic elements and copy.

Working to a tight launch schedule, the project needed a dynamic management approach, with our team often completing amends same-day. The 5 hour UK-NY time difference accelerated the amends process: we were able to make changes and provide fresh proofs while the client slept; they were able to review designs out of UK office hours. The afternoons provided an overlap for project meetings. Printed in-house by our luxury book-printing division, Lyxbok, the brand books were shipped to New York in time for The Fragrance Group’s national product launch event. From Yorkshire to New York, no problem.
